Sinikap ng PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) na kunin ang paliwanag mula sa mga executive ng ABS-CBN hanggang sa production heads ng noontime show na Wowowee kaugnay ng latest issue tungkol sa pandaraya diumano sa bagong game portion sa programa na "Wilyonaryo."

Noong Huwebes, August 24, sa presscon at taping ng bagong teleserye ng ABS-CBN na Pangarap Na Bituin, nando'n ang isa sa mga co-hosts ni Willie Revillame sa Wowowee, si Mariel Rodriguez, as part of Entertainment Live.

Kasabay nito, nagaganap ang isang close-door meeting ng buong staff ng Wowowee. Kaya si Mariel na muna ang hiningan ng PEP ng comment regarding the issue

"I think bago kasi 'yung game. So, siguro kulang pa lang sa polishing. I mean, bago kasi 'yung game and that was only second time we did it. But one thing is for sure, wala namang dayaang naganap or whatever. 'Tsaka sa machine kasi, so hindi namin lahat nakokontrol 'yung mga nangyayari," paliwanag ni Mariel, na kasama ni Willie nang maganap ang kontrobersiya sa Wowowee.

Ipinaliwanag naman sa PEP ng isang ABS-CBN executive na hindi naman talaga nakuha ng contestant na nagngangalang Weng ang wheel na naglalaman ng P2 million noong August 21. Zero talaga ang laman ng wheel ni Weng, but just the same, hindi naman siya umuwing luhaan dahil nanalo pa siya ng halagang P137,000.

Ayon pa sa ABS-CBN executive, it's an honest mistake and unintentional ang pagkakahila ni Willie ng number 2 na nakadikit sa wheel kaya zero ang lumitaw. Sa kabila nito, sinabi sa amin ng naturang executive na maglalabas sila ng official statement kapag kinakailangan talaga.

Pero ayon sa kanila, sa ngayon ay nararamdaman nila na hindi na kailangang magpaliwanag at sagutin ang isyu. Mas lalaki lang daw ito at idi-dignify lang ang malinaw na pang-iintriga sa kanilang programa. Naniniwala sila na bahagi lamang ito ng smear campaign laban kay Willie upang pabagsakin ang Wowowee.

Dagdag pa ng ABS-CBN insider na aming kausap, malaki ang pasasalamat nila ngayon sa pagkaka-absuwelto ni Willie sa Wowowee tragedy case na ibinasura ng Department of Justice noong Biyernes.

MANILA, July 31 (Xinhua) -- Filipinos will be able to witness the year's second total lunar eclipse next month, local newspaper reported on Tuesday.

A total lunar eclipse will be visible in the Philippines and other parts of the world on Aug. 28, state weather bureau PAGASA was quoted by The Philippine Star daily as saying.

The eclipse will begin as the moon enters the penumbral stage at 3:52 p.m. and the umbral stage will begin at 4:50 p.m. It will end at 9:22 p.m.

"The totality will last for one and a half hours," PAGASA said, adding that during this period, the moon's color will change to a vivid red or orange.

A lunar eclipse takes place when the earth is between the sun and the moon so that the earth's shadow falls on the moon. The first total lunar eclipse of 2007 happened on March 4.

How-To: Beware of the Fake "Nokla N95" Phone

As if buying cell phones on ebay wasn't annoying enough already, with a bajillion things that you should know, it's about to get a lot worse - at least if you're thinking of purchasing a Nokia N95 phone.

Behold the "Nokla N95" touch-screen smartphone. A clone of the N95 that's manufactured by some scrubby company in China. Sellers claim that the phone has a 5 megapixel camera, GPS, and even a touch-screen display! Unfortunately what they usually don't tell you is that the "Nokla" is dual-band 900/1800 which makes it pretty useless in the USA.

How to spot the fake Nokia N95 phone

The good news is that it's a clone, but not a very good one. There's some telltale signs that you need to watch out for when it comes to the N95.

Here's a side-by-side comparison of the two phones, frontal view. Note:

The stylus-driven menu buttons (red box). The fake N95 has a "touch-screen" with a stylus, and the easiest way to spot the counterfeit is by checking this area. If you see a row of little icons (compare to the real N95, bottom), then it's a knock-off.

Wrong buttons and no dual-slide. (yellow and green boxes) In place of the real N95's Menu/Multimedia Key buttons, the fakey N95 has a Play button (yellow box) and a Stop button (green box). This is mainly because it doesn't have a dual-slide mechanism, so whoever designed the knock-off dropped the playback buttons anywhere. And since there's no Symbian OS, there's no need for the menu buttons either.

The Color. The real Nokia N95 comes in two colors: Silver/Plum and Silver/Sand (sort of a silvery-yellowish color). The plum and sand colors refer to the back cover of the phone (which includes the sides too). However, the counterfeit has a back cover that's black.

Lens Cover Thumb-Switch (orange box). Doesn't exist on the fake N95, but very prominent on the real thing.

Nokia Logo (teal box). When the two phones are looked at from this angle, note the difference in the logo placement, size, and direction (it's flipped on the fake).

Some random camera oddity on the fake (purple box). Not sure what this piece is supposed to be, but there's some random design on the Nokla N95 (the knock-off) that's in the shape of a 3. Don't be fooled!

Also note that the buttons on the fake look cheaper and are raised slightly higher than they're supposed to be.
